To complement the Fantastic Jurassic collection (which we are showing at Audi Fashion Festival next Thursday), Jimi is creating some exciting accessories for the show. He has sourced these dinosaur skeleton kits from a craft shop and is the midst of putting the millions of little bone pieces together and gluing them together so that they don't fall apart! The accessories are going to be great!

Stripes by the pool.
It's a hot hot hot Saturday and on my way down to the pool I made sure I walked past the BIG DIAGONALLY STRIPED wall of the club house.

Messy Ms Xi.
These are the works of a highly talented Singaporean girl who calls herself Ms Xi, or rather, Messy Ms Xi. She was one my students at Temasek Polytechnic, attending my History of Fashion classes when I did a lecturing stint there. She had illustrated a girl called Fantasy Stacy having all sorts of imaginative adventures, all while wearing pieces from hansel's "Nice Try!" collection! ;-) All the drawings were done on found objects such as old oil landscape paintings, pieces of wood and old record covers.
These were shown at a DesignSingapore exhibition but now hang in my studio!

Nice logos.
I love the simple old school graphics of these 2 logos - one's for National Tasmanian pies and the other was spotted on the side of a truck for a freight forwarding company.

Electrical box beauty.
Spotted beneath a highway bypass at a busy intersection in Taipei - electrical-type metal boxes decorated with hand-painted landscape scenery for that slice of serenity.

One of my favourite buildings in Singapore.
It has stars, it has butterflies, it's blue, red and white. There's nothing more I can ask for!
I don't know what the history of this building is and if anyone knows, please tell me!

Stripes Part 2.
1. City Plaza is one of my favourite buildings in Singapore for a very simple reason.
2. I love carparks! (Even though I don't drive)
3. A mesmerizing lamp spotted in Melbourne - SO BIG, SO STRIPED.

Fantastic Jurassic at ROOMS tradeshow, Tokyo.
I was so tired after the bazaar on Saturday, I slept almost throughout the whole of Sunday and didn't post a blog. Sorry! :-( Since SS09 Fantastic Jurassic has just been released to our stockists and the hansel online shop, I thought I'll continue to show more pics related to the collection.
These are from the Tokyo ROOMS tradeshow that we did in October 2008, where we unveiled the Fantastic Jurassic collection to the Japanese buyers and media. Held at Bell Commons in Aoyama, our hot Japanese friend Nana helped us to run the booth as well as to parade around the exhibition space wearing the hansel pieces!
Nana is photographed wearing the Ribbon Shell Top in Silk Twill (which become one of her favourites) - the blouse is now available on the hansel online shop!

Fantastic Jurassic photoshoot.
Back from Australia and back on the blog!
Now that the SS09 Fantastic Jurassic photos are up on the hansel website, I want to share these behind-the-scene shots. We worked with Michela Maggioni from Mannequin Models - she is the winner of Italy's Next Top Model and was a breeze to work with.
Apart from shooting in the studio, we also shot on location at the old Seletar army camp. I really love the open spaces, the greenery and the simplicity and elegance of these old houses. Would love to live in one!
