Her World 50th Anniversary merchandise shoot with Tracy Phillips.

Ashley Isham, Nicholas and I were each commissioned by Her World to design a commemorative printed t-shirt and tote bag for their upcoming 50th anniversary celebrations. For the photoshoot, I specifically requested for Tracy Phillips to be the model/muse for hansel's merchandise because this girl is not only good looking, intelligent and down-to-earth, she has her OWN off-beat style. I look forward to seeing the shoot in the mag!

CK fashion party at Queenstown Remand Prison.

CK held a surreal fashion event at the former Queenstown Remand Prison on Friday 22 Jan.

Even without fuel from rumours that the last inmates were shipped out of the premises just one day before the party, simply observing the grim structure and imagining what life might have been like for an inmate was enough to put a chill down my spine and feel completely ill at ease about downing the freeflow champagne.

We silently took in the size of each cell with its tiny windows, that toilet cisterns were installed OUTSIDE each cell and what appeared to might have been open-air shower cubicles right smack in the middle of a central courtyard. CK did a great job though, with the use of the space, especially with the strategic lighting and video installations. Overall, it had the atmosphere of a fine art show.

But I have to admit I felt relieved when I left the party!

When you see something as old school as this, you have to say the whole proper word: aeroplane. Not plane. Aeroplane. Just like how you learnt it in school.

This is a tee I made way before the days of hansel, when I created a tiny range of clothing and named it "d" (after my dog, of course). The "d" label was hand embroidered on the shoulder, the happy yellow jet aeroplane was ironed and tacked on by hand, and its trail, a hand-stitched running stitch.

Still kinda cute after all these years.

Inside the Lush broadcast center, Orchard Central, Orchard Road.

Until I figure out how to upload my MP3 interview file onto this blog (if somebody knows how, kindly spare me the hours searching online and email me instructions, please!), here are some shots of my interview experience at the Lush 99.5 FM broadcasting center at Orchard Central, Orchard Road.

I was fascinated that the radio DJ Angel ran her show completely on her own! She was also amazingly smooth and fluid on air, handling everything with SUCH ease.

LG video filming - cute props.

Other props used in the LG video shoot: Painted cardboard electric bolts masking taped to clamps, a fashion designer's work desk (mine doesn't look anything like that but what the hey), and lovely tin toy robots!

LG video filming Day 2.

A slightly more forgiving call time of 8am on the 2nd day of filming.

That's director Kah Beng being cheeky, me in front of the screen that shows whatever the cameraman is shooting (I don't know the technical name for it), the studio set up, the red Electric Robot tee lookin' good on screen, and lastly, a avant-garde photoshoot of the Ribbon V-neck Dress with the film crew adjusting props in the background (Just kidding - they didn't actually film it that way. I just thought it was quite a cool concept if it WERE a shoot concept).

Catch me on the new LG borderless TV.

7am call time at my shop on a Monday morning.

Director Kah Beng and his film crew packed into my shop and filled it with fabulously industrial-looking lighting. If I got my facts right, this video is made by Discovery Channel for LG's new TV and soon, I'll be gracing the screens of their new TV screens throughout Asia, from Korea to Singapore.

Catch me at a Best Denki near you!

Here's half a leg, sir.

To help you visualize and decide on your purchase of a brand new pair of work shoes, Pedro provides half a man's tailored pant leg (elasticated at the top) to wear over your knee. What a great idea!

I try it on too but don't think the one-legged look suits me too well.

Onigiri packaging.

Ingenious onigiri packaging design with clear visual unwrapping instructions that even a non-Japanese reading/speaking person like me can easily understand and follow. The plastic is designed to keep the rice and the seaweed apart so that the seaweed does not get soggy from the moisture in the rice. A tear and a pull reveals an onigiri ready to eat on the go with one half still wrapped in plastic to keep your fingers clean and dry!

The Ostrich, The Reindeer and The Zebra.

Returned to my industrial block hansel studio late one night and found these 3 furry friends hanging out on top of the letterboxes.
