hansel for Maybelline New York.

I was too excited and couldn't wait for the "official" pictures (although I will upload them once I get them) to let you know about the Zig Zag Zling Bag that hansel had created especially for Maybelline New York for the launch of their new Pulse Perfection vibrating mascara. I snapped these shots in Watson's.

They have slotted in just 10 Golden Tickets in 10 of their new mascara boxes and if you find the Golden Ticket, you will win the bag! Yaay!

I can tell you that the bag is made by hand from pure leather that's as soft as a baby's bottom :-) There's a basketweave bag with a magnetic fastening and a ultra eye-catching Black and Gold zig-zagging leather shoulder strap. Perfect for a night out partying or a weekend with the girls.

I wonder if I could trick Maybelline into telling me which ones contain the tickets then I could claim all 10 for myself?!

Copha, the happy vegetable shortening.

Copha is actually solidified fat made from coconut oil made by Peerless Foods in Australia. I've never used it in cooking before but all I know is that its party-happy packaging caught my eye as it sat amongst rows of butter (and other solid fat things that I shouldn't even be looking at!) in the supermarket.

Geometric patterned huts on Koh Ngai, Thailand.

On a recent holiday in Krabi, I went on a snorkeling boat trip and anchored in Koh Ngai. As soon as the anchor was dropped, I went straight over to take pictures of these small holiday huts. I had spotted them from the boat out at sea and was already completely besotted by the eye-catching diamond patterns. A hansel version would definitely be in Black and White!

Great mini 3D display stands!

Had my nails done recently and got obsessed with the small 3D cardboard display stands that showcased the ranges of O.P.I nail polish colours under different themes.

My personal favourite is the Chinese junk boat in the "Hong Kong" range.

Lady Melbourne wears hansel!

Here is the very chic Australian blogger Lady Melbourne in our Fake Bustier Dress, photographed against our Paper Dolly backdrop in our shop! (The photo is taken from her super popular blog.)

I missed meeting Lady Melbourne when she was in town for the Audi Fashion Festival but I do hope to catch up with her when I visit Melbourne later this year! Yes, it's time to revisit cool Melbourne - hansel's debut launch pad.

Industrial blenders spotted in HK.

The industrial strength, the practicality, the no-nonsense sturdiness of it all.

Makes my heart flutter. Sigh.

Tanjong Pagar railway station.

I pass the Tanjong Pagar railway station each morning on the bus, on my way to my studio. I often wished Singapore was filled with more time-worn buildings such as this one. Steeped with history and meaning, Singapore would have a very different vibe if there were more visual connections with our origins and our growing up years. There may be stronger patriotism if we could identify ourselves with our physical landscape. What say you?

Old school pool.

A friend recently threw a BBQ party by his old school condo pool. The place was filled with simple geometry and tone-on-tone greens.

I loved that my footwear choice of the day matched the surroundings.

I enjoyed the CPR sign with its old school illustrations.

I loved the underground carpark.

The lovely Bryan Boy!

My good friend Mark and I attended a show at Audi Fashion Festival this year. When Mark spotted blogger Bryan Boy amongst the champagne-sipping crowd, he insisted that I take a photo of them together. To be honest I was rather shy in approaching the famous and fabulous BB so it was so great that he turned out to be very friendly and down-to-earth.

3 cheers to Bryan Boy for keepin' it real!
