"I Know You Love Me But...." by Jo Soh (1987)

Boy, I was a prolific little 11 year old.

Here's another comic book that I drew.

In this one, someone's mother dies at the start of the story (in a dramatic robbery gone wrong, of course)...

There is great grief in the family...

The female protagonist finds it hard to live without her mother but decides that Punk style will keep her going...

She meets a new boy in her life (a NICE boy with squid-like hairstyle).

She returns home to find that her father has found a new love in his life too. A uptight disciplinarian who wears a cap sleeve shift dress with classy pearls (of course).

They have, in the world of 11 year old Jo Soh, the necessary looooong conversations...

One day, the heroine gets all beaten up by her wild and dangerous ex-boyfriend.

And then her new step-mother dies too.

With all that drama in her life, she goes even deeper into the evil world of girl gangs...

Then she gets stabbed too...

And dies. (Surprise, surprise.)
Her heartbroken father moves to Canada (or someplace like that).

She returns as a ghost to leave an important message to her NICE boyfriend.

Good grief.
